1996 sunfire

i have 1996 sunfire have code PO141 O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction bank 1 sensor 2 ..so i did the test on the sensor by the catalytic converter...said to check O2 side (disconnect) you should have 5-7 ohms..got 5.77 ..then check other side of connection and i should have batt. voltage.. all test done on black and brown wires..anyway all test passed..so all i did was cleared the code with myOBD2 code reader.. how long does it normally take for the code to reappear...i was thinkin taken the car for about a 20 -30 min drive that should to the job... any comments will be a great help thank you in advance for you time and help...

Re: 1996 sunfire

It could take 20-30 min or it could take days or it may never come back on. It could be something that happens in the rain or cold or heat. but if it is a hard fault meaning a problem that is there and continues to be there them 20-30 min should be enough. Chances are if the code reader says o2 sensor its probably the o2 sensor itself. o2 sensors go bad its a fact of life. But you never know, thats the excitement of the automotive industry!!!!
