Anti-theft device for new car

Hello everyone,

I bought a brand new Toyota Camry about a week ago, and I am concerned about someone stealing it. My car didn't come with any anti-theft device. I HAVE TO take my car to Brooklyn, New York in a couple of weeks, and there are no nearby garages, hence I have to park on the streets for 5 days, and I am worried.

Please suggest which anti-theft devices should be installed.

By the way, I've heard window etching, what is it? Apparently, my car didn't come with it.

Thanks in advance for your help, and I appreciate

Re: Anti-theft device for new car

I`d get an electronic engine Imobilizer if I where you, the best you can afford. failing that, cheap method - you could interupt your ignition circuits with a hidden switch but of course hidden switches can always be found. Visual deterants are always good, such as a `Disclock` steering wheel lock or `Mul-T-Lock` gear shifter imobilizer (not sure if they do one for automatics?)
Get a big dog
Window etching is where they etch your chasis number into the windows.
