Question 1992 dodge colt no electric on turn of key

Hi
I have a 1992 dodge colt and it had an intermintant problem where it would stop running on occasion a few turns of the key would produce nothing, Not even a click of the starter, Blank. then after a few trys it would work then not do it again for a long time. Now it did the same thing but this time it will no longer start. Key turns and no sign of anything. Tried tightning and wiggling all wires battery connections ..every thing I can think of. It is bizzare and I am not sure where to look now.

Any Ideas or similar experiences out there?

You didn't mention if you had acc power. Do your headlights work? If so get a test light and start probing at the battery. Follow each cable 1 at a time you should find a place with no power.

Had the same problem w/ an 87. What a royal PITA THAT was! Eventually the problem was permanent and wouldn't start at all. Of course, it died 40 miles from home. I towed it home, and found a corroded primary ignition wire near the drivers side headlight. I carefully butt spliced it, and applied liquid rubber and no more problems!

Good Luck!
