Argggg!!!!
My engine light came on last night!!!
I was just idling and then it came on. I have a 2000 so I cant get the code myself or reset it. Time to buy an OBD-II Scan tool...  Maybe it'll go off by itself after awhile or I could try disconnecting the battery or ECU if I get desperate.

Have you tried checking your engine???
 Or you could just place black electrical tape over the light.

Could've happened because of one of my sensors (I have a CAI). Or it may just be something silly.
I really dont think the P11's have a problem  It could be anything really.... my car does have 36,000 miles already w/o 1 problem. Its about time, I was worried my car was indestructible!!

jeez.. I thought I had too many miles... i've only had the car for 2 years, but the first year I drove it 25000. So I improved a bit this year w/ only 11,000.
Anyhow.. you'll be happy to know that I fired up my car today and the light was off!!! It must've just been acting tempermental.

had mine come on within 3k miles and again before 4k miles... tiz was a bad o2 sensor, they say. working okay now, but suspicious when it will come on again.too bad the motor didnt blow up so i could have an excuse to the wife to buy a 330i or a is300.

I just passed 81K on my 99. The only annoyance I get is the brake light coming on every now and then. Im just too lazy to check out the switch. Someday Ill fix it.
