2004 Civic SI

Hey all,
I just got a Civic Si. Love the car. Wonder what kinds of mods people are making to them. Any feedback?

Performance

Just wondering what I can do to boost performance. Small things at first and ease into heavier mods.

Re: 2004 Civic SI

ok well first are the bolt ons I/H/E

look around find what kind of ones you want for intake anything just get K&N filter. Header snag a DC-5R one and exhaust thats your call being the sound and all you kinda gotta pick that yourself I love the sound of the magnaflow catbacks on the K motors myself though

Sorry to bug you again, but looking @ the K&N filters and I'm seeing that there are 2 things, a Typhoon Short Ram and a replacement filter...now...i'm totally green and didn't have a daddy to talk about cars with, so would you mind shedding some light? I really apprecaite it.

Are both replacement and short ram needed?

Found the 4-2-1 K-series header for 339.95. Is that a good deal? How hard are they to install? Tools needed?

Re: 2004 Civic SI

not a prob gotta learn some how here is a great place.

the filter is just that while the short ram is a better flowing tube and all a real intake i'd reccomend shelling out for the short ram.

Well 4-2-1 is a set up for a header what brand it may or may not be a good deal.

header can be a pain to intsall on the K motor you have i've never put one on but i'd assume even though the motor has the header in the back its still just a hand tool afternoon job

Re: 2004 Civic SI

that looks pretty sweet and will work but thats just a muffler more gains are show with full catback

https://www.justmagnaflow.com/cgi-bi...&key=CARJ15757
it says 02-03 but its also for your car.

Also you can get that muffler that looks great imo and go to a muffler shop have piping welded up a resanoter added if you want.

Drink would be great mate but its not needed we're here to talk cars and lend a hand

Re: 2004 Civic SI

i have one too, love it, wish it was to JDM (japanese domestic market) spec. though. I've already entertained the idea of an RSX type S head swap. Wider wheels and tires would be nice. I was gonna start doing some track days in mine.

thats where she'll shine. some meats and bigger rear sway you'll be quite happy.

sadly due to the cars driventrain and weight on the street to be bit more potent needs some more then the I/H/E most stop at.

Re: 2004 Civic SI

it depends on what you plan on doing in the future as to what mods you should do. If you plan on going turbo later on then buying a cold air intake and header would be a waste of time. If i were you and had my si stock again i would opt for the injen cai and i have a magnaflow exhaust and i love it it sounds great and gives you a little power boost throughout the rpm range. I know a few people who have used megan racing header and test pipe and they seem just as happy as the people who have shelled out some cash for dc or other headers. You can find their stuff at www.robearracing.com Just decide what you want to do to your ride before you put money into it so you dont waste it.
