Question '93 Celica with rough idle...Help!

My 1993 Celica is starting to idle really bad. It doesn't do it all the time, but sometimes when I stop the idle will drop to about 150 RPM, then it will bounce back up and drop down again. Usually once it starts this it will continue doing it, but like I said it doesn't always do it. Does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it? Please speak in simple terms, I'm not to motor savvy, thanks

maybe it's a fuel problem. When was the fuel filter changed?

Re: '93 Celica with rough idle...Help!

This sounds almost identical to a problem I had that drove me mad for months. It turned out to be the engine coolant temperature sensor breaking down intermittently. The symptoms were the same as yours. Once replaced I've had no problems at all. Good luck!

my celica 95 is doing the same but it finally just broke down on me. I had to crank it up twice before it started running again.
