Electric Fans

I just added 2 14" electric fans to my truck. With the hood open or inside the truck at a stop light, I noticed that the fans are pulsing/vibrating. Either fan indepently runs without the vibration. Any ideas as to why they are vibrating and what to do to fix it?

Did you

What holds the fans to the rad?

Are they the kind that you have to run plastic ties through the rad from one side of the rad to the other?

if so they are lose and they really are not that good.

Sooner or later they will rub holes in the rad lines.

See if you can make some brackets to hold the fans to the rad.
Some places sell brackets for them.

another thing you can do is put plastic between the fans and the rad.
This will thighten up the fans and help absorbe the vibs you are getting.

I mounted the fans with the plastic mounting ties.

I remounted them tonight and put foam pads on both sides to help dampen the vibration. I also made sure the ties were all as tight as I could make them.

It helped alot and I am not getting the vibes anymore.

Do you still think I need to remount them with brackets to avoid future problems? If so any ideas on where to find the brackets or how to fabricate them?

That should...

That should be fine.

I do not know if you truck is 4x4 but if you go 4x4 watch the rad.

A lot of moving around might rub a hole in your rad with those plastic tie running through the rad.

I have never seen it but heard about.
