what is the diferent on the LS and the base cava

Question in 2004 Chevy only made the 2.2L ecotec for the cavalier? Yes/no if so what did they do different on this LS vs the base because the base model only has 140 bhp and the LS has 150 bhp?

every cav after 02 was made with the ecotec... every one of em!... So they all have 140Hp stock.. the LS model basically is just a Luxory Sport... Comes with the special front bumper, side skirts, fog lights and a few other little upgrades.... almost like a Z24 but without a better motor... this why its not called a Z24.... the LS your paying out the ass for ungly upgrades while you can buy a base model and be as fast as an LS... you can always mod to your likings and save money..

But the LS does not stand for what you have said it does, I have an LS Sport so if what you said my LS would be a luxory sport sport.

Fog lights

Probably more stuff that I can't remember

I had a base Cavalier back in 93 and I wans't too happy with it. The car didn't even come with a radio back then, that's how the base models were.

Thanks for the answers. Someone has told me that the 04 Ls had 150 bhp stock but was not sure, glad I only got the base model and did not pay all that extar money for eye candy, I will do my own mods

There are three models out, the LS the LS Sport and the base model. Right on my insurance card itself, it says LS Sport. The title says the same. It is an LS Sport. THe LS Sport is the one loaded with ground effects and the painted door handles, the LS has less options and the base is plain. The base and the LS just have the plain door handles also.

Look at some new car websites and you will see the three models. I think chevrolet.com gives the differances.

o well... if some people want to pay more for extra's go for it... it will just be comming off when you mod your car anyways... just money pissed down the drain and another way for insurance companies to rape you on.

LOL I'm not changing a thing on this car. I bough the car because it had all the options that I wanted on it. I don't buy cars to mod them, I buy them because they have the things i want on them so I don't have to mod them. I already paid enough for the car.

hey if you have no planned mods for it..... they look great and are fun car.... But its a waste if your going to mod it... thats the point i'm tyring to get across..

Listen I appreciate all the comments, but I was not trying to start an argument about which car has this or that, I just need to know if the was a different in the engines which there appears to be not but thanks for the feedback
