lumina just stop on me

hello to everyone, i own a 1990 lumina sedan and it just stop on me one day. As i looked through some of the message i seen 2 that caught my attention saying about checking fuel filter or fuel pump which is located in gas tank also i must let u know that i have a oil leak and need to change the valve cover gasket can anyone help me and if so how can i change the gaskets and is this a hard job please respond back A.S.A.P i want to do this over the weekend because winter is approaching in MINO. :

Are you sure your oil leak is a valve cover gasket? If the oil is coming from the drivers side of the engine, it's probably the oil pump drive shaft housing leaking. if it is a valve cover leaking, it s a relatively simple job, but you'll have to remove the upper intake plenum also to get to the rear one and the coolant transfer tube to get to the front one.

as far as your car quitting, check for spark. IF you have spark, then it's fuel related. IF you don't have spark, I would bet it's a crank position sensor.

Thanks for all the information and the timely response, i decided to do the womanly thang and let a man handle this job. I will get back to u guys on Monday to let u know what the outcome were. Once again thanks for all u guys support, Men Rule!

Unhappy Oil leak

Hello guys i'm back to let u know i was told that the oil leak was a lower intake gasket. Is this a hard job to do and what would be your instruction on how to fix this problem?

its not difficult, but it is time consuming. very time consuming. A $40 fel-pro gasket set has everything you'll need to do it, and its just a matter of doing things step by step in order. upper intake + things connected to it; lower intake + things connected to it. Lots of cleaning and care not to nick or gouge the parts must be taken.
