well i went to look at the talon tsi..
it was a 90 tsi with 95k(supposdly) on the motor, with a re-built head, greddy hi boost copper gasker and aem pullys, not to mention a short throw shifter and a cone filter for 1300k.. i taught it was a steal,

so when i went to look at the car the guy was like he made a little mistake it was not 95k on the motor it was 195000.. man was i pissed..
it was such a nice talon white with a black glass top and black whale tail spoiler.. man i really wanted this car and it was 5sp.. so im pissed.. it sux, i want a dsm...

no more new project.. damm im stuck with the probe
on a happier note since it got colder i can see 15psi on the probe but not for long as soon as i hit 15psi i have to let off or else the fuel cut off will hit, i need to turn down the boost, i hit fuel cut off way to much now..

also a quick KILL, i was driving home form a long drive of clearing my head (failing classes in school) so im minding my own business and i hear the sound of a honda with a intake comming up, so i guess they see my exhasut and i was being kinda loud shifting at 3k, so 4 guys in a 4dr 91 accord, dropped with rims, i/e, the look at me and punch it, so im like great some rice, i need to take some fustration out, i let them get 2 cars ahead, damm did they take fover to do that, so i hit the gas in 2nd, hit 15psi by now im at head to head and i let off so my bov sound, you should of seen the looks on these guys faces.. the 3 passangers had the dumfounded look and the driver is shaking his head no.. so after i let off and see the look i punched it in 2nd, went into third and pulled like 3 cars, let off and waited for them to catch up, i see them hit the blinker and turn up the street.. hehe i felt better after that
every so often you have to put a rice in their place..

If the engine was rebuilt, than it should still be fine. Check KBB, but that still might be a good deal.

not the engine just the head, the pistons and everything else is still stock parts, and if im gona boost the shit out of this motor, i dont want to have that old of internals, also with cars with that much milage shit starts to go, sensors and stuf..

ahhhh, jus go with the JDM cyclone 6 bolt motor. Then you'll be set. If the DSM is clean enough to pass as one with 95k... 1300 may not be so bad. 1000 would be good

i second fatninja's advice, except for the fact that you CAN find good 1G DSM's every now and then that are near stock with low mileage. Search and search and search some more, cause it will really be worth it when you are done. Good luck, and nice kill...

That would be a waste. TopLine sells full rebuild kits for the 4g63 for a good price.

I bought the wife a 91 AWD (auto as she refuses to lean stick) with a BEAUTIFUL interior/exterior and a few minor issues for 1100.
