Does our Gs have traction control? Is there an aftermarket product that add this feature?

No traction control but the touring and the sport models have limited slip differential wich do's help on the slippery stuff, and I have no idea if there is an aftermarket vendor for traction control but maybe someone in here will know for sure.

Traction control on most inexpensive cars now days is really crappy. It consists of detecting wheel sping and then cutting the ignition for about half a second.

You can get a better limited slip however. Quaife makes a excellent, if not expensive, TORSEN LSD for our cars.

Whoa there big fella!

Who filled your head with that horsepucky?

A good LSD will give you significant advantage putting power down getting out of corners. An LSD won't do anything in a straight line once you are no longer able to spin your tires.

A Torsen type (ala Quaife) LSD is better than the Nissan factory LSD by a damned sight by all accounts.

BTW, an LSD isn't traction control.

Actually, that's essentially how traction control works on F1 cars even. Most cause a slight misfire to limit power.

Putting the power down and beating the guy who is spinning his wheels or his car.

I think that you could get TCS on automatic G20s, I'm not sure of anybody that offers traction control on cars with manual transmissions.

An LSD might not be a traction control but does it functions like a traction contro, or could it be better?

So the optimum launch then would be at around 3500 rpm rather than at the threshold torque (4800 rpm)??? Launching at the threshold torque could potential spinning your wheels, delay one-half or so seconds of critical time, leaving you behind the track. Could this analysis be wrong?

Well it's true that you don't want to spin your wheels to much but you can launch at around 4k + rpm as long as you let the clutch out smoothly to avoid spinning instead of just dumping the clutch and holding on.
