Considering a New 2004 MPV LX

Test drove an MPV LX and liked the drive. I just don't know too much about Mazdas. Everything I've read on the MPV has been on the positive side and just points out the smaller size as a negative which is not an issue for us.

I currently have a 2000 Ford Windstar LS which I am less than thrilled with.

I understand that Mazda is part of the Ford family. And that concerns me because of engine and transmission issues I've had with the Windstar.

Anyone have any MPV experiences they can share?

Thanks!

The MPV uses the Ford 3.0 liter engine, transmission is from Japan. There were software updates for the tranny to fix hard shifting problems earlier this year. Edmunds.com forums have more info on the MPVs.
