Radio Reception

I have a 2003 Passat with the monsoon sound system, I purchased it new, and haven't had too many troubles. One problem that is nagging at me is the lack of reception on the radio. When I purchased the vehicle it was fine. It has gradually diminshed to nothing. I brought it back while the vehicle was under warranty and was assured the radio and antenna checked out ok. When the dealer brought me out to the car we had reception, it gradually disappeared again.I thought it might be a bad antenna which I replaced with no change. My next thought is the antenna wiring. Anyone heard of a similar problem?

It's a very common problem. Do a search on the subject. Often it turns out to be an antenna poor ground issue.
