Good old unfaithful ('88 caravan suspension problem)
My caravan and I go back a long way. It has been around as long as I can remember and about a year and a half ago, while it was sitting in my driveway with a blown head gasket, my parents said if I got it running, I could keep it. Sounds good.. So between school and my job I somehow found time to replace the head gasket, get it AirCared (it passed with better than flying colours) and the oil cooler died. Easy enough, replaced that and the fuel pump died, fine, replaced that and the intake manifold gasket went (my fault). Replaced that, the gas lifters for the gate, lights in the dash, front rotors and pads, a section of the fuel line, the light switch module, all the plugs, all the plug wires, the distributor cap and rotor, flushed and cleaned the tranny, sanded down the gate, filled and repainted it; little spit shine and it's almost as good as new. Now that almost everything has gone wrong and been fixed (all of which only really cost me maybe $300 CDN) the outter driver side CV Joint has decided to test my patients too. Ordinaraly this wouldnt' be a problem, I hear Lordco has a "trade in" program that's pretty cheap BUT while I was in the bathroom, one of my friends who was trying to help me disconected the bolts holding the coil and piston to the wheel assembly. I came back out to find that without the bolts holding it in place, it had extended itself and was pushing down on the CV Joint I was trying to remove. My question now is how can I recompress the suspension the two inches it'll take to bolt it back in so I can continue on with the CV Joint?
I appreciate any help anyone can provide.
