Coil and Plug wire sequence on 1999 3.8 Windstar

If I am standing in front of the vehicle, looking at the engine, what sequence should the plug wires be.

On the front side from left to right?

On the back side from left to right?

Looking at the coil on the left side from front to back?

Looking at the coil on the right side from front to back?

Thanks to anyone who can give me these answers.

Re: Firing order on 1999 3.6 Windstar

Usually the coil pack has a diagram, or is numbered, to show which pack terminal goes to which cylinder.

Now all you need to know is how the cylinders are numbered. (It sometimes helps to think of the engine as moved ninety degrees to be in its present orientation...I.E., the end of the engine that has the belt is the "front", the side of the engine toward the rear of the car is the RH side, etc.). Also, the side of the engine toward the rear of the car(the RH side) is referred to as "bank 1" and contains cyls #1, #2, and #3 from "engine front" to "engine rear".... or from your left-to-right standing in front of vehicle.

Bank 2, closest to radiator, has #4, #5, and #6... from your left-to-right again.

This all allows to you to properly hook up spark wires without even knowing or caring about firing order.... which is 1-4-2-5-3-6.

Re: Firing order on 1999 3.6 Windstar

That helps out. Thanks. My coil doesn't seem to be numbered. I think I may have the plug wires hooked to it wrong. I do have them setup correctly to each cylinder though.

I replaced my upper intake gaskets, spark plugs (Autolite Platinums with .54 gap), plug wires (Ford Motorsport 8mm), air filter, and fuel filter and when I start it up, it idles alright but seems to have a miss or almost a exhaust leak like sound when I rev it up a bit. When I put it in gear to pull it into the driveway, it died on me. When I put it in gear it doesn't run right at all.

I would love to eliminate a coil/wire mismatch. Any idea on how they are supposed to be setup? I currently have them setup like this.

As you are looking at coil from front of vehicle, from front of coil to back of coil.

Left side-4-5-6
Right side-3-2-1

Should be:
Left side-4-6-5
Right side 3-2-1
