Well some of you might hate me for this but I`ve been thinking of just tuching up that paint job up and clear coat it. I`m not trying to be cheap but I realy like that paint job , looks like it has lived its live at the track all these years

Re: restoring a 66 fastback

Hmm, ladder bar. Well, I had a system on my 454SS silverado 1:1 with coilovers. Mine was like this ladder bar> |\/| <ladder bar The V in the middle hooked at the ends of the bars and the middle of the rear end on the bottom. Hope this helps some. Sweet paint idea

Thats a 3 link system , better for a street car (or truck) but not strong enough for a high horse power drag car as I understand it.

Well, I'm not sure how much horsepower you're talking about. Seeing as my 1:1 454SS with modifications dynoed close to 570 wheel horsepower and about 586 ft lbs. With a set of slicks it ran mid 12's to low 13's pending on track and weather conditions. Then there were times when the truck would flop and pull a 16 second pass. I never figured out why sometimes it'd run fast and others it wouldn't. Anyway, I think the 3link would do nicely on this fastback, although its' just a model.

Realy you are right it would have looked better but I didn`t think about doing it that way at the time I was making it . I prolly won`t redo the rear end now because it took me a LONG time to do that set up and I`d hate to take it apart to redo it .

No more progress on the model today , I had to take a break from that and fix some real cars .

BugZilla , how much do you want for that engin , my sister has payed me my money back now so I should have plenty...

Looking good so far. I sent you an e-mail about the engine.

I got started on the mustang II front end

Ever since bugzilla said something about a bigblock I just couldn`t bring myselve to build a small block for it so I started digging through my scrap engins and found a bigblock out of an old bigfoot model . I`ll be using it untill I get some money for the engin I wanna buy from bugzilla (the last of my money had to go into my 1:1 maverick )

I found out that when you`r dog takes a dump on you bed and a leak on the blanket that you are prolly gonna have a bad day . The white mustang that I was gonna repaint is now scrap parts , my airbrush is broken now , and while I was making the MII front end my model knife slipped so I have a nice deep cut in the tip of my finger .

I got the paint done , it didn`t come out as good as I had hoped but its ok . The engin is now done and that is the last time I ever try to make plug wires with craft wire .

I hope y`all liked it , this is the most I have ever done to one model and I have learned alot of things not to do now
