99 cherokee helppp!! (I have dynamite ready)
I have a 99 Cherokee sport with 4.0 L6 engine. It has the following problem. It is runnin rough as hell and popping obd2 code p 202 (injector malfunction cylinder 2). I replaced all the injectors, fuel rail, tps sensor. Still running rough and throwing same obd2 code p 202. Checked all connections seem fine. Checked from connector of #2 cylinder to computer with ohmmeter ohms 0.02 on both prongs. cleaned throttle body, idle assembly cleaned also. all vacuum hoses in place no leaks detected. cleaned contacts on computer. no change. continues running rough and blowing blue smoke with heavy smell of gas in exhaust. fuel pressure at idle is 45 psi. revving it up results in no change in fuel pressure. fuel pressure does not leak down after shutdown for at least 30 min. all fuses and relays appear fine. ANY IDEAS WOULD GREATLY BE APPRECIATED!!!!!!
BTW, I AM GONNA BLOW THIS THING UP IF SOMEONE DOES NOT HELP ME!!!!!! Thanks. |

Re: 99 cherokee helppp!! (I have dynamite ready)
If you have 0.02 ohms on both terminals of the injector harness to the pcm thats a problem. One of the wires, should be green with an orange tracer, should have 12 volts and it doesn't go to the pcm.It is fed by the asd relay, which would have to be ok in order for your Jeep to even run.Basically all 6 injectors are powered by the same circuit. The pcm just pulses the ground. You can check it with a test light or your meter. With the engine running, you should have a steady 12 volts on the green and orange wire. The other wire should be a pulsed ground.I would look at the wiring for the injectors .Look where that harness goes around by the back of the fuel rail.Sometimes it lays on the edge of the rail and it cuts into the harness.

202 is a Fuel Injector Control circuit Fault. Check the Harness like 31 says could be a short.

Re: 99 cherokee helppp!! (I have dynamite ready)
I know that 202 is an injector circuit fault. I checked it to the end of the harness unplugged from the harness at the injector to the harness at computer unplugged. is showed 0.02 ohms. (meaning not a shorted or broken wire.) checking the injector harness from the other injectors it pulses volts up and down, on #2 it does not put out any voltage at all. digital voltmeter reads a dead 0

If it is not in the harness it sounds like injector drive circuit in the PCM Ive had to replace the pcm on GMs that did that. Hope that is not your problem. My manual dosent give me much on troubleshooting that code I will try to do more checking.
