Something about the wheels bothers me, but other than that, nice render, nice crosshatching.

Whats wrong with the shading? Just because its a bit different doesn't mean its rubbish, I quite like your unique style. If you want realistic shading, I recommend a pencil.

YAY!!!

Pen and Ink!!!

I've felt so alone. (jk)

Nice work. Sometimes you can over hatch. Lay back a little on the sides and let a subtle line carry the tone for you. I like the inside of the rims.

Ellipse set...great investment.

The shading looks great. It's wierd, but in a good way. The proportions look perfect.

Re: ((350Z))This 1 took a bad turn

The crosshatching gives it a really cool effect, actually, especially on the wheels. As mentioned already, the proportions are excellent!

I think the cross hatching is a great idea. I would like to see you go further with it so that there is more variation on the side of the car. The front bumper on the right hand side is the stongest area. If you did the whole car like that, it would look awesome. I think the only reason it looks a little funny is because the hatching lines are evenly spaced and perfectly parallel. You could easily save this drawing with more hatching. It's a good drawing, keep it going.

Even in the style of cross hatching that you did, it looks cool when you step back from the picture (or the monitor). The lines disappear and you just see the value changes.

Re: ((350Z))This 1 took a bad turn

Oh this thread is back, I thought it was gone.

The hatching looks good, I would just create closer hatching lines. Have you looked at books at B&N on ink drawing? Those could help you out a lot.

A tutorial on cross hatching a portrait but still applies to cars.
