Re: brakes

Hey TK,

I just replace my front and rear brakes about three weeks ago. It was a relatively simple job and took a few hours, but it only took that long cuz I was being a little slow. After you take off the wheel, there are two bolts on the back side of the caliper housing. I believe they were a weird size...15mm sounds about right, you might want to double check that though. After these bolts are removed the caliper should come off. My brakes were really low so my calipers were pretty snug on the rotor so I had to wiggle the c-clamp in to compress them a little bit. Just a small bump, nothing big. Pop out the old brake pads and use the c-clamp to compress the caliper down. Make sure to keep a towel around the resevoir under the hood (master cylinder?) when you compress them. Pop in the new brake pads, slide the caliper back into place and put the bolts back in. Be careful not to pinch the boots when you slide the bolts through. After you switch the pads and get the wheels on, backup and pull forward slowly and press the brakes to get the fluid back down. I forgot to replace my brake fluid and my light was on for about 45 minutes till I figured it out...my bad. I have some picture that i tried to upload but they were to big. I'll try to cut them down if you need them, just let me know.

That might have been a little overkill, I know you said you had done this before, but I figured what the heck. This way if there is anything I missed, someone let me know, Please!

I don't believe you can mess up the abs, but i could be wrong. My dad helped me and I trust his methods, they have worked many times.

So there ya go, hope I helped.

Re: brakes

i found a website that offers OEM GM online catalogs 24-7. had the parts shipped to my home cheaper than buying from my local dealer. www.gm-car-parts.com
