Question Supercharger and the ECU

Would the ECU have to be reprogrammed to put a supercharger on a 2200 2.2L engine because I was thinking of putting one on my cavy to improve the 1/4 mile time?

Re: Supercharger and the ECU

Also would the compressor off of a turbo work as a supercharger if I put a pully on the shaft?

Re: Supercharger and the ECU

i really dont think that would work, the supercharger is designed to produce air while spinning, if you put a pulley on aturbo ,where would the air (boost) come from? the ''propeller'' in the turbo takes the air (exhaust) thats already there & just pushes it harder....basically. anyways it would be nice if that would work,& a cheap f.i. for some of us with an old turbo lying around.
