Airbag question

I had an 04 cavalier coupe and this weekend i rolled it a few times. My air bags did not deploy when the accident happened, even though there is clear damage to the front end of my car from crashiing into a hill. I was wondering if this was a problem common for cavaliers or if this was just a freak accident that it didn't deploy. I was wearing my seatbelt so the only problems i have now are seatbelt bruising, but the accident totalled my car because it slid on the passenger side for a few hundred feet and then rolled at least 3 times, collapsing the roof and jamming the doors closed.

But if anyone knows anything about the airbags in them, i would be eternally grateful. I'm now in the market for another new car and want another cavalier but not if they have a tendency to not deploy their airbags. Thanks a bunch!!

Re: Airbag question

I had a 99 Z24 I hit awll going backwards at 100 mph then flipped it and spun on the roof until it wore a hole in it and chevy sent a tech to check my computer and said theres a little sensor that didnt get hit or if you have an aftermarket radio you need a special wiring harness to run your factory deck for airbags becuase thyre routed through that with passlock system
