Will,
I was staring at the engine detail(since it's very detailed) and the throttle linkage caught my eye. How/what did you use to make the linkage on the induction side? From the pedal as well?

Love the spoon-style fluid covers!

Wouldn't that throttle cable burn to a crisp laying on the open exhaust headers?tee-hee

Zoomzoom - It'll be there.

stryfe101 - Yes, I'll attribute most of my getting up off my butt and finishing it to your comments.

675Datsun - The throttle linkage is deceptively simple. Starting at the pedal end, I drilled a really small hole into the kit supplied part - I mean, you can't let that thing stick out into space and not have a cable?! The cable is some wire, I think detail master, but slightly bigger than ignition cables and slightly smaller than their hoses. What I did was strip a short length of the insulation off, so that there is a little bit of the copper sticking out. That simulates the wire coming out of the sleeve on a real throttle cable. On the throttle body side, I did some widgetry there wher the linkage goes into the actual throttle bodies. The curved bit, the round part that gets pulled on by the cable, is a peice of the kit supplied velocity stack. I trimmed it to a C shape and stick some plastic rod in the center. As for it burning up... SHHHH!!! Ceramic coated header... or something. SHHHH!!!

Thanks for all the kind words everyone, I am proud of this car but I don't feel like I deserve quite all that praise! Thanks though, I love the support here.

Will,
You should be proud. This model embodies creativity, ingenuity and determination.
Regarding the battery tie-downs and requisite decal...holy schynkies!
Can you do a how-to on the battery and tie-downs...it looks spot on and very convincing.

Thanks for the induction pic and the linkage description. Man I get giddy whever I see those throttle bodies.
Using a velocity stack and re-shaping it into a cable-pull was smart!

How about some dash/suspension pics when you're really done
