Will a 350 fit?

Hi, I have a 1989 GMC Safari with a 4.3L V6, I was wondering if I could fit a 350 in that thing without to much trouble, cause i plan on buying one after I get my baggs put on. I was planning on rebuilding that V6 but if i can I would like to put a 350.

I'm thinking of buying an astro/safari van for the purpose of doing a v8 conversion, I'm trying to find as much info about the vans as i can.
I'm looking for web pages with information about what transmissions came in the awd/2wd tail shaft lenghts ete. What front and rear diffs are in vans as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi:

I have done 3-350 swaps into Astro/safari's 87/93/95 - it is a very easy straightforward swap.
Biggest part is making the fan shroud fit which is just some trimming and bending - most everything else lines up.

Depending on what you need to re-use from the 4.3 and existing stuff like air/powersteering etc will dictate the rest of the install. I got rid of everything first, mounted the engine and trans then started to put back what I wanted to use. I also re-wired the engine compartment.
