No, stock they are no faster than a stock s-10. i dontk nwo of and performance OEM stuff. i was in the mothers frontier and there was one that came up behind me on a 4 lane road. he stocked and just sat behind me going the limit. so i slowed down and he went to pass me. i speed up with him and i saw him look over at me then i pointed forward and i shifted down to 3rd. he said ok, 5seconds later he honked and i floored it. it wasnt being serious but just seeing. i help him pretty well up till 85 at which point there was a common cop hide out so i blinked my flashers (him only about 1/2 lenght ahead of me) and he slowed back down and i gave him the thumbs up and he honked and smiled. i dont think either of us where being serious but if a 146hp frontier can hold it its not all too fast....

Are those extremes actually fast? one of my neighbours has one, I've never thought much of it, it just looks like a lowered s10 + bodykit.

Haha we'll you are absolutely correct to think that, because thats really all it is.

Basically what you get with an Xtreme is a suspension package called ZQ8. Think of it like WS6 is to a Firebird Trans Am, but its nothing really fancy. You get Bilstein shocks all around and a 2 inch drop, plus the bodykit. It rides pretty nice for a small truck.

No I couldn't hear his exhaust...over my stereo. At the time, when we were at the light, it never occured to me that this was anything special, so I didn't bother to turn down the music to listen...so really that doesn't mean much. Windows were closed and the music was as high as I'm willing to put it.

It sounds to me like he either has a supercharger kit or he has a 350 V8 underneath it, both aren't uncommon. There is this one supercharger+intercooled kit out there that is supposed to put around 280-300hp with 10 psi, but I'm still skeptical that it really puts out that much power. I'll let you know when I buy it this coming spring .

I'm definately going to dyno my truck as it is right now, and then dyno after the supercharger.

Drop a 350 in an S-10 and most people have no idea how quick they can be. With my old S-10 though I just used to drift and do burnouts. My tires are bald as hell, but they are fun to do it with. Just turn the wheel a tad to the left, rev a bit higher, dump clutch, and that bitch will hook like you never knew it. Fun stuff.

stock xtremes are not quick, but when they get tubbed and when peeple swap the motors they have soo muhc power and soo little truck, dem boys can fly

yea...i kno a guy with a 92 S10 with a 350 in it...lol he just has fun in it all the time...he's constantly slidin it around the corner leavin work. he's plannin on droppin a 373 producin 500 HP in it in a couple months... :-X

i've seen an xtreme run at the track low 18s i think....anyway slow...but there was another older one maybe early 90s dul grey nothing flashy.....ran a 8.88 at 160mph and went strait as an arrow down the track....and there's a yellow old chevy luv pickup at houston raceway park that is street legal and runs 7.6s he made a pass one night then drove out the front gate and headed down the road

no i'm pretty sure on the site it said a 400 not really de-tuned...but made into a 373...pushin 500 hp...
