wierd noise at 2000rpm's

I have a 97' sunfire 2.2 and it is a stick. Just recently it started making shaking noises down through the middle of the car. I took it in to a mechanic and he said it was fine but the noise it really annoying and I have no clue what it is.
Also I have a stereo in it and the amp has the sub like breath or something when its not hitting hard and when that happens my you can hear my exhaust start to die down then go back up.
My last problem is my headlights they are dim as can be and there is barely a difference in my brights. I know that it is not from my sub because it doesn't dim then get brighter and stuff like that. HELP PLEASE!!!!!

I'm not sure what a "shaking noise" is, but the dim lights and odd acting sub could be a charging system problem, caaused either by a bad belt tensioner, bad serp belt or an alternator going south.

I had the battery and alternator checked and they were good. Was told it could possibly be a faulty wire or something of that sort. Was wondering if it gets costly for stuff like that. Right now my Brights should be my regular lights and my lows are like my running lights. Pretty hard to see at night.

Check for a bad ground in the lighting circiut. Usually a bad ground will cause the lights to be quite dim. Once you find and correct the grounding issue everything should return to normal. As far as cost it will be expensive for a mechanic to find the problem but if you do it yourself it will cost very little. Should only be a bad wire!

I see where the connection is, right by the driver side headlight but I am not sure what exactly I need to do. I know that when I disconnect the box my driver side headlight dims down to my running light.
