opportunity GALANT VR-4

I was talking to my friend w/ his Galant VR-4 and he actually was going to sell it next year for about $$6500
he has fully reuilt motor, 16g, and this and that everywhere else

is the vr-4 the same as the GSX of the year except w/ 4 doors?

is this a good opportunity

i'm not saavy on the vr-4's but i can get my way around the turbo dsms pretty well and i kno they have the same engine
ne other info on them would be awesome
and btw i am searching

I dont know about the Galant but the 3000gt Vr-4 OWNS!

Thank you for that helpful info LostProphet. The Galant VR-4 utilizes the same engine, however the VR-4 is turbo while the Galant GSX is n/a. The GSX still has awd though. If you want to look at it this way, the GVR-4 is the same mechanically as the Talon TSi awd, Eclipse GSX, of the same years, 90-92. This car is a rare find, and if you are into these type of cars, I would purchase it. Definately a lot of potential there.

are you sure the galant GSX is NT? I know for a fact that the VR-4 is viscous realtime-4, relating to viscous plates that have to do with the AWD system, but the European galant VR-4 were always twin-turbo.

Yes, the galant gsx's are n/a, but awd, and yoru right about the vr-4, it is a a viscous setup, full time awd. the Europeon ones are twin turbo, but he isn't referring to those. He is talking about the early 90's ones. That setup consists a of a single turbo 4 cylinder 4g63 engine.

Consider it a 1g DSM. I think Jake has bought modified 2g's for that price, try to get it lower.

Galants are numbered cars though. I belive there were 1000 in 91, and 1500 in 92, or vice versa. You'll see poeple put "#145 of 1500" or similar in thier signatures To people that want a GVR4, the fact that a modified 2g is the same price is meaningless. The only trouble I see with the GVR4s is I hear they are all very rusty for some reason. More than the 1Gs of the same years. GVR4s also have rear steering, for which I believe there is a vfaq to remove.

i think only 3000 galant vr4s were made between 91-92 or whatever. badass. but if your really looking for performance go with a 1g.

i thought the 91's were xxx of 2000 and the 92's were xxx out of 1000,

he is hell-bent on selling it at 6500 $ but he's selling it next year and is going to continue modifying it until its sold, my friend is talking about dropping 5k in his lap right now and see if he sells, but it IS a collectors item almost and would be awesome to have waiting in my garage
