1994 Pontiac Bonneville

I have a 1994 Pontiac Bonneville and it want start. Checked the battery and it is okay. Lights and everything appear to be okay. One guy suggested that he read it in the manual that if the ignition is dirty the computer can't read the key and you have to spray this igition cleaner in and wait for the security light to go off and it will start. Tried that to no avail. I think the car has had about three new batteries nd maybe two alternators. I think it is the alternator. Should I take it out and try another alternator. It will not turn over at all. Thanks for any help. oh by the way when you turn the key you can hear the fuel pump engage. Please reply soon. It's been down for over a week.

Was your security light on prior to your no start problem?

Re: 1994 Pontiac Bonneville

the alternator keeps the battery charged, so it has no effect on whether the car will start(unless the battery is dead). did you run the battery down trying to start it? do you still have lights and everything now that it won't turn over, or is everything dead? give us a little more info please.
