91 zxTT vrs. 03 Mustang GT haha

i recently just 2 months got my z and got it into service to check for future problems... nothing yet according to herba nissan, well alot of my buddies and me go out street racing to piss off the popo's and stage it so we dont get caught, well to cut to the chase, i raced my buddies gt, from start-off i got ahead and then i played with him and slowed down a bit letting him ahead of me, got by the side of him, and then floored it and beat him by almost 2 car lengths, figured since everyone one is chanting they are kicking ass i should too, hes stock and i got a stillen full cat-back, turbo-x bovs and jwt ecu upgrade, thought it was fun, then i watched a sick race, 3000gt vr-4 stock vrs heavily upgraded eclipse gsx(gsx won barely), and watched my girlfriends s2000 beat my buddies sti wrx(close very close), what a nice night...then the night ended with cops, my friend bryan with his wrx sti got caught, slapped with a big ass fine and got his car impounded haha,

another thing, my z first has a strong smell of gas when its cold out, not sure, checked for leak no leak, any suggestions, and also my buddy with his 92 zxtt when he boosts and shifts, a small poof of white smoke comes out the ass-end, wear and tear on the pistons? his turbos boost up fine so it cant be those i dont think, any suggestions?

As for your gas-smell... check the lines by your fuel filter under your hood. It just may need to tightened up (clamps)...

nice kill...mustang owners claim there car to be so fast. there is a guy on the 350z forum that claims that the 350z will get killed by a mustang GT stock for stock. if the GT managed to beat it, it wouldnt be by much. some people have blinders on when it comes to cars.

white smoke??? hmm...sounds like a head gasket or something of that nature. usually a blwon head gasket leads to whitish-blue smoke.

smelling of gas when its cold...you said you have a full stillen cat-back exhaust??? is this a full exhaust from the downpips back or just a cat-back exhaust??? if you have removed your cats you usually will smell gas or fumes beings that there is no emission equipment. then when it is cold the smell condenses making it more noticeable. just a guess but i would probably do what 1viadrift said and check all fuel lines and see exactly where its the strongest.

im not sure if its the whole cat-back, the guy i bought it from said it cost him 600 dollars, no actually my girl usually doesnt race her car so to make her feel better, he actually let her win, i thought it was fun to say she won fair and square cause it would be a surprise to me too. well im not sure what it could be, but ill check it out what you said, well my buddy was behind me and said my oil seals were gone and alot of smoke was comming out, i got all the hoses fixed and now they is less smoke, so going to find out for sure...

my buddies car is worse than mine, mine is just a poof of smoke, now the head gaskets, how much is this estimated cost, just the part itself, im new to the zx and wanted something special to work on instead of my winterbeater corsica lol,...thanks for the advice and suggestions

White smoke = water in engine (steam) radiator coolant leak into combustion chamber. Causes- head gasket, valve guides, cracked cylinder(s), warped head or deck.

Blueish smoke=fuel, running rich. Causes MAF missreading, O2S failed or fouled, injector leak, sparkplug(s) fouled.

Black/gray smoke= Oil. Fouled, fried rings, valve guide where, PCV valve clogged or pinched off, TOO much oil.

head gaskets are cheap...like probably $30-$100. not sure. somewhere in there. but that isnt where the cost comes in for most people. labor is where blown head gaskets get you. im sure you can imagine the pain in the ass it is just to get to a gasket and replace it and then put everything back.

White smoke is water, and the Zed has a water collector up front after the MAF that stops water from being ingested into the engine. Could be a head gasket. With your engine cooled off check your radiator with the cap off and engine running to see if any bubbles or you can smell exhaust in the water. Check everything even do a compression check if you can't find the problem. I had to make a special adaptor to do a compression check.

Blue smoke= oil not gas
Black smoke= gas not oil

I just got a nice red 350Z a couple weeks ago and the first car I got to run was a GT and I rip him. He's stock an standard and me stock (not for long) automatic. The difference was he show boated and smoked his tires and I hooked-up and was gone. You can beat a car that's faster than you by 1/2 second if he blows it at the start.
