turn signals

I have a '97 dakota sport 2wd quad cab (and yes my tranny sucks).

I am having a problem with my right rear light clusters. When indicating a left turn the blinker goes into fast flash mode. The backup light on the right side is out and the running light is out, bad bulb obviously. I replaced both bulbs and it didn't help. I swapped bulb from left side to right side, sill no change. I even removed my trailer itch lighting harness and no change. I cleaned the battery terminals and inspected the chasis ground. No help. I have tried several different bulbs, cleaned the contacts, etc. I managed to get it working once, but only for a day or two. What is causing this? Is there more than one ground? Could it be bad wiring hanesses? Any suggestions would help!

Thanks!

Re: turn signals

Sounds like a loose connection somewhere; try getting up under there, and tightening everything you can find. Or go high tech with a voltage metere and test for resistance/etc.
