Looking at a 1998 prelude.Is it worth it?

Hi, I'm looking into buying a used Honda Prelude,and found one at a Honda dealership, and since then, I've been trying to find out if it's actually worth it.I like the fact that Honda's are one of the best,when it comes to reliability and every where I look, the Prelude seems to be recommended and is highly praised.
So here's the run down, it's advertised at $15,900 Canadian dollars, I should note that I'll be paying in Canadian dollars as well. Anyways, it's a '98 Honda Prelude with power everything,a/c,v-tec engine and automatic,with sportshift, transmission. It's got 115,000 km, exterior is white, interior is grey.Everything else seems to be stock.I've asked friends of mine and they think $15,900 is too high for a car with that many km (kilometers) on it. Of course, I do intend on haggling a bit, but what do you think is reasonable?
I also did a little background check and found that the car had only one previous owner, and had no serious repairs done. However, the last scheduled maintainance check was at around 76,000 km, so I'm not sure who owned the car since then,and where it's been since then.
It's really too bad Honda didn't keep making these,because they're great looking cars,with perfomance to boot.I'd really like to own this car but I don't want a lemon either.So what do you think? Is it worth it?

Well I am not sure what the canadian money exchange rate but if it's around $15,900 american dollars. It seems kind of high, prelude are real nice cars I have owned a few myselft. Hell I got one now with 85,000 miles and it's a 96 and I am only asking $4,500

15,900 Canadian dollars is 12,606.04 American dollars

115,000km is 71,461 miles

It's over priced, if you could get it for $10,000 or 10,500, then I think that it's worth it.

psh 10,000 is still overpriced... 9g (U.S not sure howmuch in canada) at most unless its an sh. but IMO the sportshift is really crappy learn stick u wont regret it.

sport shift is really not bad at all... the convenience of a auto comes into handy a lot, and the downshifts with the sport shift are surprisingly not too laggy and you can still feel the power on the downshifts, much better than a regular automatic if you ask me, and i have had every type of tranny, auto, manual, and sport shift... manual is definitly the best, but sport shift is a much better alternative than regular auto

prelude in canada sell for higher in the states btw...

Hi,I just thought I'd let you guys know I ended up buying the '98 Prelude for $14,200.There was also a used 2000 Prelude I was considering with fewer miles but,of course,cost more.In the end it came down to the test drive.The '00 just didn't feel as smooth as the '98.Thanks to you guys for checking out my post,now,what should I add to it first?

I guess go with the old cold air intake and exhaust, but it's really up to you. Depends if you want performance or looks.
