Question 85 300zx turbo hessitates in asseleration

hessitates during shifting in all gears if i ride the cluch it is smooth
idles in neutral just fine. from gear to gear clutch out gas to the floor 1 or 2 seconds and will finally kick in. need a little help please.

done a tone up resently nothing else
could timing or fuel sysem need some work???

Right...what takes a second or two to kick in? The clutch? Is it not engaging? The engine? Does it not rev higher even with the throttle wide open? The turbo? Is it just taking longer than normal to spool up?

Turbos take a moment to make boost. You have to remember the turbo is going from roughly 20-30 thousand rpms just driving around to 70 thousand or more at wide open throttle. Thats a big hill to climb. If you want to improve turbo performance then I would suggest heading over to www.z31.com, they'll have more info on that then just about anyone here. Or give LongLivetheZ a PM, he has a Z31 Turbo as well and may have some more information on Z31 performance parts.

1988 300zx turbo 5spd. 3" mandrel exhaust, filter, afco rad, e-fan, poly engine mounts, mbc at 8.5 psi, turboxs rfl-h bov, gutted plenum, etc.

blown turbo, under construction.. gt35 coming.

my english skills is not yes problem

back to the thread
misunderstood me not the turbo the engine hesitates
between shifting as if it wants to die. i hold gas pedel
to the floor for 1 or 2 seconds and then it finally wants to go.

could be something to do with your fuel system almost flooding out the engine between shifts because it's running really rich.. not sure what you'd do to fix it if that was the problem
