The "D" light on the P-R-N-D-2-1 indicator on my dash is out. All the other lights show up fine.
Is this a light bulb issue? How do I change this bulb? I hope I do not have to remove the entire dash to do this. The light in the center shift stick is still fine so I can confirm I am in Drive. CC |

Re: 95' Camry P-R-N-D Light Question
It is probably the bulb. I don't know the details for your car, but it is likely you can remove the cover off the instrument panel without too much difficulty. Some of the screws holding it are in front of the display under the sun shield.

Re: Re: 95' Camry P-R-N-D Light Question
My 96 has had the same problem for years. It didn't seem to be worth the trouble of fixng since it really doesn't cause any inconvienence. With all these Camrys having the same problem makes you wonder whether Toyota may plan some of these things, designed failure to encourage new purchases.

Thanks everybody for your comments and suggestions.
I was able to find a detailed instruction on removal of the "Cluster Finish Panel" for the 95' Camry. Unfortunately I am not able to attach the pdf file here. The "Cluster Finish Panel" is the dark hard plastic cover that covers the instrument cluster. There are two screws that are clearly visible on the under side of the panel just in the section in front of the instruments. According to the instructions there are two more screws just below the AC/Fan controls. To access these screws, one will need to remove the "Center Cluster Finish Panel", which is the piece of cover that surround the radio. The "Center Cluster Finish Panel" is held in by two clips on the bottom edge of the panel. Here is a link to removal of the radio panel: http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs...PDF/869013.pdf The instruction says to "Tape the screwdriver tip before use." I assume the "taped" tip prevent scratching the finish? I will take everyone's advice and drive without my "D" light for now. If any other instrument panel light goes off, I may try to fix it. After looking at the directions for replacing the radio, I am getting ideas about upgrading my factory radio to a CD that plays MP3 file. Has anyone done it?
