Transmission flush query.... on +98
Alright, I'm up to about 55k on my Rodeo Sport (aka Amigo), and I had the dealer flush it at 30k and I'm ready to take it back in again for a flush. But these recent posts are making me think I might want to drop the pan and replace the filter? Also, my truck still has the problem when going 57-65 mph I can feel the torque convert kick in and out like 2-5 times while mildly accelerating up a a hill. I think this may be due to the range sensor connection is dirty; I plan to clean it while I'm doing other fall maintanace stuff.
So what is the suggestion? Flush now or drop the pan and do the filter? Or do I wait till 80k to do the filter? http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showfl...=5&o=1&fpart=1 http://www.geocities.com/endre_rl/isuzufaq.htm#faq58

Re: Transmission flush query.... on +98
I would do another flush now and wait till 90k to do the filter. I did the filter change @ 65k and the old filter was fine (mine had been flushed at 30k as well). I would drain a little fluid and see if it is burnt, discolored or dirty, in which case I might consider a filter change. With regular (30k) flushing my fluid stays honey colored all the time. I've talked to a couple of isuzu mechanics who say the filter change isn't necessary. I wouldn't go that far, but 55k seems a bit early in my opinion.

I too would just do another flush. 30K, 60K and then a pan drop/filter change @ 90K+ would be the perfect maintenance plan. I did 3 consecutive pan drain/fills on my 2002 @ 12K miles, then had my dealer do a "transmission service" this past summer @ 26K miles just to get something on record. That's all they did was drain & fill the pan one time! (3-4 qts) & charged $50. That is what they consider a "tranny service" & all they will do (it's a lincoln/merc/mazda/isuzu dealership). Keep your thinking cap on for that t-converter issue! something is not right there. I know our 2002 will unlock/re-lock the t-converter at slight throttle changes @ hiwy speeds, but that's normal. You did the IMG already, try the range sensor, or maybe your battery??
G/luck Joel

Re: Transmission flush query.... on +98
battery will be replaced in the next month. 4 years on the stock one is enough.
Thanks for the replys!
