Exclamation Brakes stuck

I have an 86 with the drivers side rear break smoking. Do you think I have to rebiuld the caliper. The other side is fine. the parking break is a
little stiff. I just put new rotors and breaks on because the previous
owner wore the old brakes past thier limits and ruined the rotors. The old brake pads had uneven wear. On the outside the brake pad some life
left on it but on the inside it was totally shot. And on the other side of the car the brake pad was uneven where the pad was worn more on one
side than the other. The left side was worn more than the right side.
Any ideas.

Re: Brakes stuck

could be something to do with the brake lines, i would check that. it could also be with your master cylinder, but i would first check the lines.

Re: Brakes stuck

I did notice that that brake fluid was almost black. I should probably flush and replace then proceed.

Re: Brakes stuck

i had that exact same problem with my 86 n/a... my problem was the e-break thing was seized up... i don't know how to describe the looks of it , but it's on the back of the car and there should be a steel cable coming from it that runs towards the front of the car... i just soaked it in wd-40 and hit it with something big and heavy a few times... got it unseized nicely and i haven't had a problem since! i can take pics in the morning if you would like
