Angry Help With Bomz Racing Intake

I recently installed a bomz racing intake on my buddy's 94 probe GT.

Fired it up, and it was surging, sputtering, and wouldnt hold an idle.

Is there any other modifications i have to do for this car to run with this intake? possibly an air sensor mod? i suspect its the air sensor that is preventing it from working.

thanks.

If you are having problem idling and the car is sputtering then you have an air leak which means u didnt put it on right. Make sure everything is tight and secure. Start your car and see if you can find where the leak is coming from.

there are three holes in the intake

2 are connected to hoses, one is covered with electrical tape (no more hoses from the car)

the airflow sensor plug just hangs.. i suspect this is the culprit..

ive been installing intakes for years never have i had this problem. theres no airleak... any other ideas?

hey, i had the same problem w/ my 94 pgt. this is what you gotta do, first, don't use electrical tape to cover up that 3rd hole. get a cap at an auto parts store, also you need to keep the mass air flow sensor on. you want to put the entire after market intake together before you put it in, go out and buy a rubber sleeve that will connect your sensor to the pipe, and clamp it on, and connect the sensor wire. your probilly gonna have to buy some more hoses, it's gonna end up being really close to the fan, and you have to manuver it into place, and it's gonna be on an angle facing down. if you need any more help just let me know,
tom

Re: Help With Bomz Racing Intake

hey for when you connect your intake to your engine it should go in the following order,
Engine block, rubber sleeve, pipe, rubber sleeve that you purchase (may have to buy a strait 3 inch rubber sleeve then just clamp it to size to conform to the mass airflow sensor that's what i did), then you go mass airflow sensor, then your filter. but just to let you know, i think it is better if you extend the pipe, and lower the filter to the bottom of the engine bay, im gonna do that, just havn't gotten around to it yet, it will suck in colder air which is better for your engine. hope this helps
