Replacing fuel pump in 95 s10 blazer

My 95 s10 blazer will not start and I believe that the fuel pump went out. I can't hear the fuel pump turn on when I try to start the car. I'm going to replace the fuel pump but is this a hard thing to do and exactly where is the fuel pump? I was told that in chevy's its actually in the gas tank.

It is in the tank but did you check your fuses and wiring first. That would be a lot easier fix than dropping the tank.

check Fuses, check fuel pump relay and THEN check the fuel pump.
