What is under the vinyl top? I'm thinking about taking it off, it's getting to be a pain to maintain. Are there any holes left in the roof after the top is gone? Will I have to change the trim around the windows at all?

assuming that it is the same as a monte carlo (it should be)
there will be small metal studs sticking out of the roof which attached the metal trim around the vinyl top. those will need ground off and the roof repainted. on my car the chrome trim around the sail panel windows was reusable but since it had the vinyl it didn't have the chome trim for around the rear window. also sometimes the factory didn't see a need to smooth out everything under the vinyl so it might not be real pretty under there. all and all its pretty easy to do if you know how to do body and paint work. |
