If you know how to drive, you're already in the high 14's

Re: 14 sec car

Actually, the best time I've seen for a stock 1997 prelude is 15.2, usally the average is 15.4. And keep in mind, that's what it's rated at, so that's with a professional driver. Stock ludes do not run high 14's. With the set up that you have, you might be able to run high 14's on a perfect run, with a perfect take over and perfect shifts. I'd say you might need a few more things like pulleys to add some more power, and then things like short throw kits and a clutch that will grab quicker.

Re: 14 sec car

Stock Preludes can dip into the 14's, depending on 1) elevation and 2) driver skill. Pullies are shit.

Re: 14 sec car

I agree with Aces High... pullies blow... do your research and you will see that the 99-01 ludes have 10 hp more than the 97 and 98 (so the 97 would be a little slower than a 99)... and I know they can run high 14s

Re: 14 sec car

I was with my gf looking at cars today at a honda dealership, and I was talking to the guy about my prelude and he was telling me they are worth a lot, way more than Kelly Blue Book, and said people are always calling their dealership, which is huge, and asking them if they have any in stock, which they usually don't. If you can find a good deal on a prelude, buy it, you won't regret it when you can sell it for close to what you paid for it, even with 50k more miles and 2 years later

If you want to insure you'll get high 14s just gut the entire car. It'll be free and it'll make sure you get your results even if you're not the best driver.

I already answered your question. With the mods you have currently + a decent driver = high 14. Learn how to drive. Its the best mod you'll ever invest in. (I'm not implying that you don't know how to drive; but there's always room for improvement, no matter who's driving.)
