Re: what do i need for a d16z6 swap

motor (a longblock preferably, not sure how much you can use from the d15 on the d16), and ecu basically. You have pretty much everything else. And I'm not completely sure, but I have been told that all civics come pre-wired for VTEC it's just a matter of hooking up that wire. Other than that, you can use your d15 tranny, it will be a little slower, but you get better MPG.

Its a direct bolt in swap. Just wire up the vtec and get the SI/ex tranny.

As GScivic7 said, you'll want the D16Z6 ECU also.

ECU should be included with the whole swap.

True, but it's better to make sure he understands that it's needed. There are jerks out there who will try to sell him the motor for a "swap" with no ecu. It's better to point it out and be safe than not point it out and have the poor guy end up with a motor for a "swap" where the ecu wasn't included
