Question Car Frame build up questions....

I have a few questions on building up a complete frame for a car. I have designs for it that i made (combination of my favorite cars put together) but, i am lost on a few things.... I am taking welding class by a relative and he will help me build it, but i was wondering if i could build the body out of fiberglass now and then build the frame for it?? i know its probally easier to build the frame, but hes too busy untill later this year/ early next year. and which is better square or round tubing? Also any problems you had when you were building your car, please tell me Im sure i will have more questions during the build up. Hopefully i will have my site up and running with a step by step build up!

Thanks,
Mike D.

Re: Car Frame build up questions....

Always build the frame first, unless you have the body there, or have to build the frame around the body (and have precision measurements).

I am a hot rod designer/fabricator, and building cars from scratch is no childs play. Thousands of hours of precision drawing and design and such. Read this, it should give you an idea of what I mean: http://www.automotivearticles.com/Wh..._Part_1_.shtml

Square or round tubing? A little bit of both. Round tubing is easier, and stronger. It all depends on your design.
