Ok... I'm all sorts of confused now....
Do the D15 and D16 have different heads? if not... how is the D16 a 1.6L? Do they have different blocks? and it IS possible to just put MPFI on the D15 head right? and if I wanted to put the cam from a D16 in there... Would it be easier just to switch to the D16 head? and some of you guys crushed my dreams of riding the DOHC train... lol... I really wish I had the money to throw together a Ls/Vtec... DROOL! But I'm still considering sticking with the D-Series and turbo'ing... or maybe even NOS... but I don't like Nos... everyone has Nos.... Turbo's sound so much sexier.... But anyway.... I'm sure I'll come up with more questions... But if anyone could answer those for me... that'd be great. |

And the D15 is a 1.5l cause of the 15 in the engine name. Same with D16 being 1.6l. It's not hard to understand. Quote:
-Yes, the mpfi can be swapped with a d15 since it has DPFI (dual point) It's a very popular swap and there's info on here if you just use the search feature -Yes, the cam from a d16 will fit on a d15. It's a little more aggressive and will pull better but don't look for a faster engine. Best thing to do is the MPFI swap and then the cam, then you'll have a d15 variant of the D16. Hope that helps

Re: Confused?!
The heads doesn't have anything to do with engine size. D15 i believe has 8 valves while the d16 has 16valves

Re: Confused?!
omg... an engine size is determined by its bore & stroke & number of cylinders. a 1.6L is a 1.6L becuase the stroke is longer than on a 1.5L. all d series have identical bores.

Re: Confused?!
alright thx!
So swapping my d15 for a d16 instead of just doin mpfi swap and cam swap would give me even more power right? |
