sterio wont turn on!

i dont know what is wron but i just cant turn it on! is there fuse for it? any idea why it wont turn on?

Is it a factory stereo? And yes, there are fuses...sometimes more than 1. Check on the side of the dash (have to open doors, it will have a fuse panel), the glove box, under the dash, under the hood....Most of the time the radio fuse is tied in with other accessories in the car such as interior lights/buzzer, horn, cig lighter-so if any of those dont work it is hopefully a fuse (easy way to figure it out!). If its not factory radio, there is usually a fuse on the back of the radio or in the wiring harness. The fuse is usually a 10 or 15 amp fuse. And also, if it is an aftermarket make sure to check your wiring, alot of times you may have to run a new ground wire.

i just got the car 2 days ago its a facotry sterio... but i think the owner of this car had a cd plaer or something i hope its only fuses.. i hope its not that they took it out and didnt wire it good! ill try looking for fuses first than the last thing i will try to remove the setrio and see the wiring!

its a 96 gti all the fuses are ok too! i tried taking out the sterio but i cant.. you know where there are 4 holes and you have to stick a clot hanger to try to unclip it! but i cant! im just gone take it to futureshop and try to buy a new mp3 player and ill pay them to change it... make it there problem!
