New Guy: Help with FWD driveshaft?

Hi everyone, I'm just looking through some forums, this one seems pretty helpful, I was wondering if anyone had ever had any problems putting a driveshaft into a 5-speed transmission on a 3000GT? Neither side wants to go in all the way and I don't know if I should try to force them in there. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

you mean axle? you gotta tap em in there but not hard if you have to take a swing its too much just kinda rotate them back and forth and push at the same time should do it

Hey thanks for the help, but I discovered that the driveshaft (or CV shaft as i've known it) on the automatic transmission's are different than that of the driveshaft on the manual transmissions, on the passenger side. (I'm changing over from an automatic to a manual). Unfortunately I already took a mallet to the wrong axle! So I jammed it in there a little, it came back out with some force, but I just hope I didn't damage my new transmission. But your advice will help when I get the new axle tomarrow, thanks a lot!
