Tried search- dulling chrome.
I came up with no matches.
I want to dull some chrome wheels so they look.....less chrome-like. How do i go about doing it?

Use a clear flat. Testors dullcoat works great!

Re: Tried search- dulling chrome.
You could strip the chrome off and repaint it with Alclad, Mr Super Metalizer or other metallic paint. To strip the chrome just soak it in bleach for a few hours. That will totally remove the plated chrome, but some brands will leave behind a clear undercoat that will have to be stripped as well.
Also play around with giving the wheels a wash with Tamiya smoke or something similar. That will give the wheels added depth and realism. |
