Battery problem

My 2003 Camry won't start, and it was working fine yesterday. I think my stepdad might of detached something because he told me not to take the car out. It sounds normal when I turn the key, but it won't start. The battery light comes on everytime, and when i check to see if that was hooked up it seemed fine. IS there something he could of done to the car that I dont know? Thanks in advance!
