Question 97 jette gls help Please

I have a 97 jetta gls it keeps on boggin everytime i drive it ive changed the plugs wires and spark plugs..... It just spits and sputers (sorry spelling stinks) any ideas ???

Dont know too much, but it could be the fuel fump, or filter.

Is the check engine light on? If so, have the codes read. Otherwise check as above & also you could try spraying the ignition coil w/wter to see if it starts arcing.

yes the light is on going to change the fuel fillter in the morning ..... how did i get it read

It has to be read with a scanner. Most Autozone & some Advance Auto Parts stores keep a generic scanner so they can get you the codes for free.

well the fuel fillter didn't work and the garage thinks my computer is gone in it how much would that cost me ??
