SR20DET AWD to FWD

I think i have most of it except the outcome... i got the front clip of a 1992 nissan bluebird turbo and i want to transpant the sr20det into my non turbo blue bird of the same year..all RHD

the SR20det came with an AWD transmission auto, can this tranny be used as a FWD only, leaving the diff out. If so what effect will this have on the performance of the car, i've heard plp say that most of the power is distributed to the rear wheels and therefore my car will be suffering for power because the ratio will be off. I dont want to use the tranny from the SR20de cause i heard that it will not hold out. Any racers out there currently runs the AWD transmission as a FWD only

Forget trying to go AWD i heard its too costly, gas tank problems etc

Re: SR20DET AWD to FWD

You cant run the awd tranny with the centre diff removed. The fwd gearbox will hold up easy. It would help if you can find a lsd box as you will have plenty of wheelspin.
Any box from a fwd sr20 powered nissan should fit up to 97 definatley.

240sx bluebird swap

hey, i have a 1993 nissan 240sx. i had the car for only 5 days and aparently there was an oil leak... i didnt see it... i think somehow it came from the tranny b cause thats the only place i saw oil. i have been around cars my whole life and i dont know how this happend... anywho the point is my engine locked up. bam. blew it... bad wack. so now im looking into an sr20DE(T) of course... =D... but ive been thinking about getting that 230hp bluebird oppose to the 203hp red top/blacktop sr20. do any of you loyal nissan owners know if a bluebird swap into my car is possible and if so how much engine bay work is required if any at all... alright.. thats about all i have to ask... please help
