how did Iyad Allawi survive?
i just saw a press conference with bush and allawi. where bush stated that allawi woke to find saddams henchmen standing over him with axes (not sure when). he was attacked reportedly spent a year recovering. so why didn't they kill him? you don't have to do much to kill a sleeping man with an ax.
i find this very interesting.

Its not to hard to kill someone with a gun either and many people survive that. I imagine its on how well you use the tool.

sometims but that is a sound beating. allawi was assulted with axes. it's really hard to beat some with an ax so they live to spread the word. he was exiled from iraq by saddam at the time. i believe he was living in england. that is a long way to go to beat a guy to near death.

Of course he didn't feel compelled to mention the time that According to former CIA officers, Allawi's INA organised terrorist attacks in Iraq between 1992 and 1995, allegedly including the bombing of a cinema and a school bus that killed school children. This campaign never posed a threat to Saddam Hussein's rule, but was designed to test INA's capability to effect regime change. or On July 17, two Australian newspapers, the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age , published an article alleging that one week before the handover of sovereignty, Allawi himself summarily executed six suspected insurgents at a Baghdad police station. The allegations are backed up by two independent sources and the execution is said to have taken place in presence of about a dozen Iraqi police, four American security men and Interior Minister Falah al-Naqib. Mr Allawi reportedly said that the execution was to "send a clear message to the police on how to deal with insurgents".
