about how many inches is a 1:28 scale of a model?

Don't really understand what you are asking? We'd be able to help better if you took the time to write a clearer question.

Anyway, here is a shot in the dark: Divide the length of the real car by 28 and you will have the lengh of the 1/28th scale model, or is that too obvious???

It depends on the car. For example a 1/24 Porsche 911 is about 1 inch longer than a 1/28 scale model of the same car. Kurz

They are scaled 1:28 and i am wondering how about many inches are the body of the car

As Phil already said, take the length of the real car and divide it by 28. If they are to scale it will give you the length.
