What happens now?
Hey, I don't know where to post this and I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to cars and I just got a new Honda Civic '02 coupe. It got rear-ended today while it was parked so basically a hit and run type thing -- I dont even have 100 miles on it yet!! The back bumper aside from a few peices of paint chipped off looks fine but underneath where the bumper lip tucks itself under the car is SPLIT in HALF... You can't really notice it and I'm sorry I dont have any pics but I was wondering if any of you guys know if I'll have to replace the whole bumper to get it fixed? Or what do they do nowadays? Back then I knew for metal bumpers they could wield it back together, however, the bumper on this civic is stock and it feels like plastic. Could anyone enlighten me on what happens if I try to fix it? Or do I have to just replace it?
Thanks |

first of all why dont you report it to your insurance and let them deal with it
but anyways if it is just minor damage i guess you could use fiberglass behind and and imprefections or impressions on the outside the is this flexible bondo type paste that is made by 3M its made for soft plastic repair it comes in two parts and you have to mix it together, anyhoo this stuff is designed to patch up bumpers. you can get it at paint supply shops.
